American Pop Artist Andy Warhol may well have achieved his goal of becoming as famous as Queen Elizabeth. The original series of these four portraits accompanied found additional prints of three other reigning queens of the era: Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, Queen Margarethe II of Denmark, and Queen Ntombi Twyla of Swaziland. Each series was based on official or media photographs. Warhol perfected the screen print technique which involves layers of colours and shapes to create the final image.
